re:"Disable Background Agents in this database" -- clearing it doesn't seem to activate the agents immediately

Hi Mike

It's to do with the agent manager. At around 4am it scans all databases for agents to schedule for the following 24 hours. If a database is disabled it doesn't process the database, but if the database is re-enabled for background agents it doesn't then start processing them again until after it's morning refresh.
There's no server command to tell the agent manager to rescan all databases, but there are two alternative options :

restart task amgr
will restart the agent manager, which will trigger a caching of agent.

tell amgr run '<db.nsf>' '<agent name>'
will perform a one-off run of an agent. This is true whether the database is disabled for background agents or not.
